Now while you may chuckle at the video above, I think this is a case of life imitating art. How many times have you been in a supermarket/restaurant/movie and had your experience, which you were paying for, ruined by someone who can’t be bothered to get a babysitter? When I was a child I had two choices, behave or get the daylights beat out of me by my parents. It only took once or twice before I figured out when I was in public I better put my best foot forward, or the best I could hope for was a quick trip home. If I couldn’t behave, I didn’t go out with the folks, it was just that simple. I don’t blame the child, I blame the parents. So instead of smacking the kids, let’s start knocking the parents upside the head.

I take it that you dont have children, lol. I used to think this same exact was as you until i had children of my own. You dont know how embarassing it is to have your child throw a tantrum in the middle of the store and having everyone staring at you! I cant beat the crap out of them in the store! They are only 3 and 4 so they dont completely understand everything i tell them either! once you have your own children you will understand! I did, the hard way! My kids are good kids for the most part. We have often gotten compliments from people in public places telling us how well behaved our children are. You just cant help when a toddler is having a bad day being tired and cranky!

Hi Deanna-
Welcome to the site, we don’t get many ladies who can stand my sense of humor, delighted to have you here.
You’re right, I don’t have kids, but most of my friends do, and also a lot of the family. I’m not talking about the occasional toddler meltdown- (although I remember being dragged bodily into the grocery store parking lot, my little arm up as high as it would go and feet only hitting every third step, lol). I mean when you go to a nice restaurant and little Billy is running around from table to table yelling, bumping into the waiters, etc. I went to see the movie Resident Evil (rated R, mind you) at 9pm on a Thursday, and the woman in front of me had a little girl, maybe eight or nine. She was yelling through the whole movie, and running up and down the aisle. She was also eating popcorn off the floor. So I guess my real beef is screaming kids whose parents ignore them, and inflict pain upon the rest of us…
