I used to believe there was a good cell phone company out there.  Then I got overbilled by AT&T- THREE MONTHS in a row.  Yelled, screamed, escalated and finally got loose.  So I’m on Sprint- had to move, no coverage in the new location.  Okay, paid the two hundred dollar screw you, you left before two years were up fee- you guessed it, they kept billing me.  I ended up having to cancel my checking account to stop the unauthorized charges.  More yelling, screaming, four months later I get my money back.

So you can imagine I’m less than enthusiastic when I have to test some wireless broadband cards from these twits for work.  Enter Verizon.  I mean they’ve got those cool commercials for the new Carob phones, how bad could it be?  Bad.  I tell them my info, and to bill my credit card.  They get my address wrong- which wouldn’t really matter if the bill went to the card- but you guessed it, they screwed that up too.  So I end up having to call three times and finally go in the the store and pay in person to close the damn thing.  It ain’t the network- it’s the twits!

couple of years ago, I moved from CA to ND, Cingular didn’t have coverage so I had to cancel account. They tried to tell me that if no service was a valid reason to get out of the contracts that everyone would move to get out of their contracts. I went in circles with them for about 5 months and finally reported the incident to several government agencies including the FCC and the better business people. less than a week later, i got a letter saying all fees had been dropped and my account was closed. You should not have to pay because they dont have service. good luck with that.

Everyone would move to get out of their contracts? That’s hilarious. Good for you for sticking to your guns- it’s been my experience that if you make enough noise and go high enough you can usually get things fixed- I’m just not sure if it’s because the CEO really cares or just doesn’t want to deal with a pissed off customer, lol… Thanks for the comment, I love to hear it when justice is served!

Yeah, as if you’re going to sell your house, change your job and move just to be able to change your phone service! I don’t know how you kept a straight face, James!

lol, it was pretty funny, but I couldn’t keep a straight face. I was irate and made them repeat it word for word back to me and then went off on them for the stupidity of the statement. I mean think about it, if all of the customers of the largest cell phone company in the country move to the only spot in ND where they don’t have service, this company wouldn’t put up a freakin tower by the end of the next day?

Just make sure that when you go off on the company you let the person you are talking to know that it is the company you are going off on, not them… unless they side with the company, then all gloves are off and they are going home crying at the end of their shift.
